Affinity Column BioteX for Biotin / Vitamin B7 Analysis
The affinity column BioteX is available in the 3 mL polypropylene format and thus perfectly suitable for automated handling e.g. in the robotic system FREESTYLE SPE.
Shelf life of the columns is 9 months cooled at 4-8 °C. The columns facilitate a high sample throughput and parallel sample preparation in food analysis via UV-determination or in HPLC or LC/MS analysis. |
Advantages at a Glance
- Long shelf life up to 9 months, cooled at 4 to 8 °C
- Fast processing time (< 2 hours, depending in sample volume)
- Very good recoveries (biotin > 90 %)
- Suitable for automated processing
Functionality of the Column
The material within the cartridge is covered with antigens directed against biotin. Upon application of a crude extract onto the column, the biotin and biotin-like molecules are retained, whereas the remaining matrix components pass through the column. After a washing step, the biotin can be eluted quantitatively from the column with methanol and subsequently measured with HPLC. The column bed consists of a soft-gel, which is covered by a storage buffer that contains a preservative.
Quality is important to us!
To guarantee a persistent quality all materials are intensely tested over the whole production process. LCTech meets the high demands of european and international legal requirements concerning mycotoxin analysis and controls every single production step. A detailed quality certificate is included in each pack.
Recovery Rates
Exemplary recovery rates of various matrices are shown in the following. The results correspond to the performance specifications of EC 401 / 2006 (Section 4.3.1):
Matrix | Biotin | |
---|---|---|
Vitamin Tablets | 90 | |
Nutritional Yeast Flakes + Biotin | 102 | |
Vitamin Powder | 91 | |
Dietary Supplement containing Biotin | 94 |
